Colbert (formerly known as Coulter, after conservative pundit Ann Coulter) is a big, enthusiastic and sweet dog who joined BraverMountain at the start of the 2017-18 Season. Colbert was a member of Ryan Redington's team prior to being moved to BraverMountain when Ryan felt it might be a better fit for Colbert.
Colbert is one of the biggest dogs at BraverMountain and is often found in the wheel position just in front of the sled.
Colbert is the only Catholic dog at BraverMountain. The rest of the dogs are Jewish.
Colbert is afraid of heights and good at "Snack or Bootie"
Colbert joined Blair's 2019 Iditarod team where he kicked everyone's butt at 'Snack or Bootie', delighted in finding leftover snacks from other teams, and was the only Iditarod dog on a diet.
He was mentioned by name in a TODAY Show's story about Blair, the Iditarod 2019 and #igivearod, although his name was notoriously misspelled (along with Pepé and Wickson).
However, Blair was forced to drop Colbert in White Mountain after he emulated Pyro by eating 15 lbs of chicken skins. He then convinced a volunteer in Nome to feed him 3 meals.
Colbert also has a twin-sister, Comma (no actual relation between the two, they just look very much alike). Comma was born in Bulgaria, and now lives her best life in Scotland. The two are in love, although they've never met, and like to confuse people. You can learn more about Comma's story here.
In December 2022, Blair has announced on Patreon that Colbert's time with the BraverMountain team has come to an end, as he was moving to Chilly Dogs, where he will join Boudica and Willow. That's where he'll continue to run, at a somewhat slower pace which seems to suit him, and trying to eat everything even remotely edible. They seem to know what they got themselves into when they got Colbert, the famous chicken-skin-eating dog!
